Tamellini Wine - The story

Our winery is rooted in a long family history.

It all began with the determination of grandfather Ettore back in 1930, who mortgaged his lands to fund, along with 30 other winegrowers, the "Cantina Sociale di Soave" (Soave Cooperative Winery).

After the war, in 1947, Luigino began planting the first 3 hectares of vineyards. From Luigino and Lina (Ettore's daughter) were born Pio Francesco and Gaetano, the current owners of the company and the third generation of the Tamellini family. They grew up in the countryside, in contact with nature and the land, immersed in a world from which they would never separate.

Unfortunately, when their father fell ill, Pio and Gaetano were only 13 years old. This circumstance led them to work in the fields from a young age, on weekends and after school.

Meanwhile, Pio Francesco studied electrical engineering and continued his studies at the University of Padua, graduating in Chemical Engineering, while Gaetano got a diploma in agriculture.

In 1997, Luigino passed away, leaving his two sons with 15 hectares of land and the desire to continue the work, preserving the family traditions in which they had grown up.

Simultaneously, Pio and Gaetano developed the ambition to create a wine that reflected the tradition in which they had been raised. Eventually, in 1998, the two brothers decided to leave the Cantina Sociale di Soave of which they were members: now they knew what path laid ahead for their future.

Starting out was not easy, but it is said that fortune favors the bold and the courageous: at the Vinitaly fair of the same year, the two brothers met Marc de Grazia, owner of an agency in Florence, to whom they offered a taste of their "Recioto di Soave" wine. Marc was looking for a good Soave made in a traditional way: pure Garganega without aging in oak barrels. This was the opportunity to start their new company: from April to September, Gaetano and Pio Francesco, armed with courage and determination, acquired everything they needed to seize this great opportunity. Thus was born the "Azienda Agricola Tamellini" with the aim of producing an authentic and traditional Soave, a philosophy that never changed.

From the beginning, Gaetano and Pio Francesco began working with agronomist Federico Curtaz and oenologist Paolo Caciorna to achieve their idea of viticulture and winemaking, that still remain by their side.

In 2016, the now established Tamellini company decided to stand on its own feet, seeking exporters who could understand the high quality level of the wine achieved after years of research and experience.

One day Luigino Tamellini said, "What you give to the land, will come back to you a hundredfold," and this has remained our company philosophy forever.

We are well aware that the power of nature far exceeds our knowledge and that our interventions must be limited to causing as little damage as possible.

Guided by our passion for our work and the experience that time has given us, every day we put passion and tenacity into producing a wine that reflects the true tradition of Soave, where the only protagonist is Garganega.
